The cross-shaped sealing cap of the puncturing device is the most crucial and essential dynamic sealing component of the puncturing device, and it is usually located at the top of the puncturing device body.
Core function: Dynamic sealing of the main channel
Its core function is to maintain the airtightness of the main channel of the puncture device throughout the repeated insertion, withdrawal and operation of the surgical instruments, thereby maintaining a stable intra-abdominal pressure.
Working principle and design features:
· Cross-shaped design: The sealing surface is designed as a cross-shaped slit. This design is the reason for its name. · Without instruments: When the cross-shaped slit is under the elasticity of silicone/rubber material, it will tightly close, forming an effective sealing barrier to prevent gas leakage. · With instruments: When surgical instrumentspass through, the "petals" of the cross shape will gently expand in all directions, tightly wrapping the instrument shaft. This design can well adapt to different diameters of instruments (usually within the range of 5mm to 12mm), and provide uniform wrapping force.
· Dynamic sealing and self-healing: This is the most crucial characteristic. The cross-shaped structure has excellent elasticity and "memory" ability. After the instrument is pulled out, the slit can instantly return to the closed state, ready for the next sealing. It can withstand hundreds or thousands of passes of instruments during a single surgery.
· Low friction resistance: High-quality materials and the cross-shaped design aim to ensure the sealing effect while minimizing the friction force when the instrument passes through, ensuring smooth and precise operation by the surgeon.
